Prayers & Hymns

SMSL

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Oh God, who is the truth and the origin of all knowledge,
bless our studies which we consecrate to you. Enlighten our minds,
strengthen our memories and direct our will towards what is right and save us from all dangers.
Grant us to seek truth always and make us truly wise.

Father we thank Thee for the night,
and for the pleasant morning light,
For rest and food and loving care,
and all that makes the world so fair,
Help us to do the things we should,
to be to others kind and good.
In all we do - the work or play,
to grow more loving everyday.

Oh God, of infinite wisdom and the source of all knowledge,
grant that we may remember what we have learned.
We offer you our work, our efforts, our success and failure.
Forgive us our failures and give us courage always to follow the path of truth.
Amen

Oh God of wisdom and power, we beseech you,
to look kindly upon us as we are about to do our Examination.
Enlighten our minds, so as to recall to our memory all that we have learnt.
Sharpen our intelligence so that we may understand the questions we are to answer.
Guide our hands that we may write neatly and clearly.
With your blessing and guidance Lord,
we know that we cannot fail in any task.
We humbly ask you to accept the fruit of our hard work.
Amen

In out, deep slow
Calm ease, smile release.
Present moment, wonderful moment.
I have arrived, unto You, Lord,
You're the centre of my life.
Guide me, Father throughout my life, (2)
Let me never stray away. (2)
Breathing in, breathing out, (2)
Your presence, Lord, I need to feel
For You're my Father, and I, your child,
Your guidance, Lord, I need.
Your plans for me, may I fulfill.
Make me pure and serene.
Breathing in, breathing out, (2)
Keep me in the circle, of your love, Lord,
In your light may I blossom,
And lead a life that is wholesome.
Make me honest, make me true, Make me pure and serene. (2)

Our Father, who in heaven above,
Dost rule o’er land and skies
Thy children’s love, Thy children’s prayer,
Be pleasing in thine eyes.

Our Father, may Thy holy name,
Be blessed by every tongue.
Thy kingdom come in every soul,
Thy glory to prolong.

Our Father, give us every day,
The daily bread we need.
And all our sins forgive us now,
As we forgive we plead.

Our Father, do not let us fall,
In temptation’s hour of strife.
O guard us from all evil here,
Give us eternal Life.

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord
And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.

Chorus: O Master, grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope,
Where there’s darkness only light,
And where there’s doubt true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all men that we receive,
And in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Lord, we pray for golden peace,
Peace all over the land.
May all men dwell in liberty,
Walking hand in hand.

Chorus: Banish fear and ignorance,
Hunger, thirst and pain.
Banish hate and poverty,
Let no man live in vain,
Let no man live in pain!

Keep all men forever one,
One in love and grace.
Wipe away all war and strife,
Give freedom to each race.

Let your justice reign supreme,
And righteousness be done,
Let goodness rule the hearts of men,
And evil be overcome.

O give thanks to the Lord for He is good (3)
Yes, eternal is His Love,

I will sing to my God never ceasing,
All my life I will tell of His wonders, He’s the maker of all earth and heaven,
Of the oceans, the seas and all they hold!

The Almighty is faithful forever,
He is just to the poor and the outraged,
It is He who gives bread to the hungry,
Who delivers the captives from their chains!

He gives sight to the blind in His mercy.
And he raises the lowly, the humble,
It is who gives shelter to strangers.
Every orphan and widow He defends!

To the just He is gracious and loving.
But the wicked He foils and they stumble.
Yes, the Lord reigns forever and ever.
He is King of creation without end.
